The record does not certify that the website is environmentally friendly, sustainable, carbon neutral or superior to other websites.
Based on measured webpage data volume and other relevant parameters, Carbon.Crane calculates the energy associated with servers, data transmission and end-user devices when the webpage is used.
The energy consumption of the website is multiplied by the industry average WUE* value.

Bureau Veritas Hungary independently reviewed the conformity of Carbon.Crane’s Website Carbon Monitor IT business application with MSZ EN ISO 14067:2019. The review applies to the Website Carbon Monitor tool, not to individual websites or individual assessment results.
Carbon.Crane is a startup focused on measuring and reducing the environmental impact and energy consumption of digital infrastructure. The five categories indicate different levels of emissions and consumption, similar to labeling used for electronic devices:
1,0 g CO2e + - excessive emissions; additional issues (slow loading, high energy use) are likely
0,8 - 1,0 g CO2e - emissions should be reduced; high probability of excess
0,6 - 0,8 g CO2e - emissions should be reviewed; strong potential for reduction
0,4-0,6 g CO2e - higher than desired but acceptable; reduction opportunities should be explored
0 - 0,4 g CO2e - low emissions; exemplary best practice
